Live A Live: Secret Orders (Extras)
There are two optional bosses in the ninja chapter of the game, both of them kind of around the same area and both of them very tough. You'll want to make sure you tackle these as late in the chapter as you can, but you'll definitely still want O-Robo with you while you do so (especially if you are doing a 0 kills play).
Before you attempt the bosses make sure O-Robo is at least level 10 and your main character should be around 13/14 if not higher. Make sure you have all the Genji armor equipped. Also make sure you've released Geomon so that you can acquire a second set of the armor (they are in the exact same positions as the first set, he simply refilled them). Your main character and O-Robo should equip these, Ryoma won't put them to much use. Remember to save before you take them on.
Lord Iwama
Lord Iwama is the easier of the two optional bosses, and he ain't easy. He is the shadow floating around in the castle's moat. Take the steps down from the dungeon and when you come out the door stand still right where you are. If you wander around in the water O-Robo might break down before you reach the boss and that would make the fight near impossible.
His Water Call will flood the field with water tiles, and though it's not very powerful it can cancel your attacks. Any technique you have to wait for isn't of much use in this fight anyway. Have O-Robo use Fuma Shuriken, have Ryoma use Quickdraw Wolf Fang to lower the boss's level, and have your main character use Blade of Wind. It has a diagonal counter called Writhe - try to activate this as often as possible. It only does 1 damage to your character and will lower Iwama's own stats. However it also has Throw Down which deals over 100 damage and paralyzes the target, and Poseidon's Tail which does less damage but paralyzes as well as poisons.
It has a chance of dropping the Suijin Scale and I highly suggest you obtain this. It's not the most useful item as far as equipment is concerned, but it has a very useful in-battle effect that could help out in a pinch if you carry it over to the final chapter.
Majin Ryunosuke
This guy is not only more difficult to beat, he's more difficult to find. From the roof tops, climb down the tree before the storehouse attic and push the brown thing upward and enter the tunnel. Proceed until you come to a corner where the path curves left. You'll see a white diamond shape on the wall here. Walk north until the diamond is just off the screen, then take another step up. Turn around and go south until you reach the end of the path, which has a jar. From here go all the way north and you will come to the room the boss resides in. Inspect the sword on the wall and then interact with the ghost who appears and the battle will begin.
Stay out of his horizontal lines because he has an attack that can kill you instantly. If you get up close he'll use Rock Crusher which will do upwards of 200 damage. If you stay at a distance he'll use another attack which will do about 150 damage, so unfortunately that is your best bet. He also used an attack once or twice that only did about 60 damage. For the most part I just stayed right where I started and had O-Robo use Fuma Shuriken. My main character barely got a chance to attack because he was constantly healing or paralyzed, but Runosake didn't attack O-Robo once so I didn't end up in any real danger.
When he is defeated, get the Muramasa off the wall and exit the room. To get out of this secret area go back down to the jar and walk up until the item is at the very bottom of the screen. Take four steps up and then go back down and you will be back in the original tunnel.
That's it for the optional bosses in this chapter!
