Mason-Dixon Outdoor Writers Association Awards NPO

Natural Pursuit Outdoors founder, Tyler Frantz, was recently honored for his writing by the Mason-Dixon Outdoor Writers Association during their spring awards banquet in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland.
Frantz's article, "Solider scores first buck with second-hand bow," which ran on the NPO Blog and in print via Lebanon Daily News on November 20th, 2016, was selected as first place for the "Bass Pro Shops Pass it On Award."
This award, sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, is to recognize efforts in introducing people (novice, adults, children, a group, audience, or readership) to the outdoors and/or enhancing their appreciation of the outdoors. It shall be presented for the best published newspaper or magazine article OR broadcast radio or TV program OR commercially marketed video OR black and white or color photo or art, that most effectively promotes passing on the love of the outdoors including natural resources, and pursuits such as hunting, fishing, trapping, hiking, camping, boating, bird watching, and nature appreciation.
Frantz also hauled in a second place honor in the "Best Outdoor Blog Entry" category for his "How to do a Grid Search to Recover your Deer" post on Bowhunting.com, which went live on September 5th, 2016. This new award category went to the best blog entry about anything “outdoors.”
The Mason-Dixon Outdoor Writers Association (M-DOWA) was founded in 1957 as a non-profit professional organization dedicated to improving member knowledge of effective communications in all fields of the outdoors media including writing, photography, art, radio and television broadcast, video, and on the internet.
M-DOWA promotes outdoor education, the wise use of natural resources, and holds members to the highest ethical standards of journalism. They also strive to have fun while accomplishing their missions.
