Pine Creek Valley Proves Itself a Gem as Always

Pine Creek Valley Proves Itself a Gem as Always

By Tyler Frantz

We just returned home from seven days in paradise- that is the family hunting camp in Lycoming's Pine Creek Valley. As always, this year's trip yielded plenty of rest and relaxation, a kayak trip down the big Pine, mountain biking on the Pine Creek Rail Trail, an anniversary road trip to Wellsboro, and more good meals than I can list.

Additional highlights included a massive brown trout landed on a dry fly in the Catch & Release section below Slate Run, a sizeable native caught just behind our cabin, a 17.5-inch rainbow and several others, plus plenty of smallmouth bass. My two year-old son brought in his first wild brook trout, adding even more memories to this special place.

Head on over to our facebook page where over a dozen photos are posted of the trip, as well as the video of landing this incredible beauty of a brown trout. While you're there, give Natural Pursuit Outdoors a LIKE! It's a great way to stay in touch and keep up with all our outdoor adventures!
