Mega Man Battle Network (Part IV)
Hello again. So, when I left you last time we had just busted up Stone Man. And happened to not have done such a good job of it. But that is behind us now, as we continue on with our quest! But first I ran around the net for a while and got a couple new chips (LongSword and FireSword). Once you get a LongSword S, you should have everything you need for the B-Sword Program Advance (Sword-WideSword-LongSword).
With that done, we have some side events to do (as usual).
First off, this gentleman who has lost his dentures in the park somehow.
So, here's what I think happened. This old fellow, longing for the days of his youth, decided on an impulse one day to climb this tree upon his visit to the park. From the looks of it, it's not a particularly large tree, so he figured "What could go wrong?" Whereupon one of the under-developed tree branches snapped, causing him to fall, which popped his dentures right out. Embarassed and slightly cuncussed, the man didn't notice until after he had left the park, and was too ashamed of his accident to go back.
Right then. Moving on. You get a Recover80 G chip for returning the false teeth, by the way.
There is also a boy at the school (AV room) who will trade you something for 30 MetGuard A chips, and a boy in room 1B will trade you something for a Dash G chip. Another old man on the northeast side of town who will trade you a KnightSword G for Escape chips F, H, J, L, and N. I didn't have the chips for any of these trades so I didn't make them. A boy in the northwest will trade you a DynaWave R for a FireTower F.
At last, it's time to go to the Metro Station and actually use it and stuff. So do that. (You can only buy a ticket to one place right now - the "government complex")
At the far east of this area you will find Sal the lunch lady. We can talk to her to engage in a Net Navi battle, but before that let's jack into her little cash register (or whatever) to get @Sal as well as a Recover120 A. Be forewarned that the viruses in here do ridiculous amounts of damage. (Remember how I didn't buy those HP upgrades?...)
Also, if you buy a lunch from Sal (it doesn't actually cost you anything) you will get a bit of dialogue resulting in the option to Net Battle her. Do we want to do this? Maybe not. Are we going to? Yes.
Apple Tree: When you see a tree appear, destroy it asap. In a couple seconds an apple will fall from it, and WoodMan will jump onto the apple and recover some health.
Sidenote: WoodMan is hard. At least, I find him to be. I was very surprised at my Busting Level here, seeing as I only had 20 HP left when I won.
For beating WoodMan, you get the /Sal, allowing you to travel past Area 2 of the main net. She also mentions there is a merchant selling armor in the new area, so we will be checking that out a bit later.
Anyway, since this fight was optional, I will not be ending the section here. Let's go inside the complex now.
Our first stop in here is this Tv, where you can get the Escape L chip.
Followed by this vending machine, where you can find a Spreader J chip. You may want to do a tad bit of farming around these machines for a few new chips.
Over by the Sci-Lab, we have another vending machine we can enter. This one containing 5000 Zennys.
Upstairs in the SciLab is a monitor we can hop into for a HiCannon J. Next we're going into Dr. Hikari's computer, which is against the eastern wall. The only thing in here however is the @Dad.
With this done, return to ACDC town. Immediately after arriving you get an e-mail containing a PowerUp and an HPmemory. Use the PowerUp however you wish, and then return home. Go online if you wish to use the /Sal and explore the new area, being careful of the new enemies as always. If you're looking to buy the WoodArmor a couple npc's around the SciLab mentioned, be prepared to fork over 15k for it.
The entirety of the basic web is now open, but as you'd guess the enemies get tougher and tougher as you go on. Past area 3 all the pathways onward are blocked by gates, and you must fulfill certain criteria (ie don't run from battles, get in very few battles in the area, get a very good rank in all battles) to open them. I will leave it up to you to decide what you're ready to take on and when, but proceed with caution and save often. Throughout these areas there are 3 merchants, each selling several HP Memories, and a few Powerups for 25,000, 50,000, and 100,000 Zennys. One of them also has the Aqua Armor for 30,000 (if I remember correctly).
Anyway, as I was scampering around Area 3 this happened.
And it happened in an area that looked like this.
Just in case you were curious.
That's all on the agenda for today. Go home, save your game (by inspecting Lan's bed) and you are done with these events. See you next time!
**Edit: I got a Dash G for S-Ranking the green bird enemy in Area 3, you just get a Repair H chip for it. I did the trade anyway though, just in case someone asks for that chip later...

Wood Man
500 HP
Wood Stomp: He will jump one space over (diagonally, usually) and a few panels on your side will flash yellow. You do not want to continue standing on these squares, as pillars of wood will erupt from the ground and stab at your guts.
Wood Tower: He will place his hands on the ground and call up pillars of wood. Again, the panels where they will appear will flash yellow - though be prepared to move quickly, he will summon a couple times in a row.
