Berks County Conservation District Offering College Scholarships To High School Seniors

The Berks County Conservation District Tuesday announced it is now accepting scholarship applications from graduating High School seniors and Berks County College or University students who will be continuing their education with the intent or continuance of majoring in environmental science, forestry, agriculture, engineering or related studies.
The deadline for applications is January 27.
The BCCD will award over $10,000 in scholarships. Several scholarships will be awarded with the top scholarship worth $4,000!
Part of the application process involves writing a student essay on this topic: “Healthy Soils are Full of Life.”
Scholarship winners will be notified by phone on or before February 27 and encouraged to attend the BCCD and Farm Service Agency Annual Banquet on October 23, where they will be recognized.
Either student or someone on their behalf must be present during awards.
