Proposed Water Quality Certification Of PennEast Pipeline Project Out For Public Review
The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the August 27 PA Bulletin (page 5611) that it intends to issue a state Section 401 Water Quality Certification for the PennEast Pipeline Project running through Bucks, Carbon, Luzerne and Northampton counties.
The proposed project is a 77.4 mile long, 36-inch natural gas pipeline which starts in Dallas, Luzerne County, through the Allentown area and would end in Trenton, New Jersey.
DEP originally proposed a Section 401 Certification for this pipeline project in May of this year.
DEP is accepting public comment on the proposed certification until September 26.
