DCNR Honors Employees With Secretary’s Achievement Awards
Whether it’s streamlining day-to-day functions, taking the lead in emergency situations, producing publications and signage which better connect the public with nature, assisting with criminal investigations, or launching online tools for DCNR’s many partners to use in planning, DCNR employees once again excelled over the past year by going above and beyond.
And, once again, they were rewarded for their efforts by being recognized by their peers and supervisors.
“These outstanding employees helped the agency move key items in our strategic initiatives forward,” said DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn. “The great work we do is a living example of a ‘Government that Works,’ and I’m proud to lead an agency with such exceptional employees.”
More than 45 employees received 17 awards personally by Secretary Dunn at a ceremony held in the auditorium of the Rachel Carson State Office Building in Harrisburg. She was joined by Deputy Secretary for Parks and Forestry John Norbeck and Deputy Secretary for Administration Michael Walsh.
Honored employees received commendations and eagle plaques, specially produced at DCNR’s Penn Nursery in Spring Mills, Centre County, in recognition of what the secretary said was “uncompromising and unfaltering dedication” to DCNR’s mission, and the resources and people the department serves and protects.
Employees saluted were nominated by their superiors and selected by a screening committee of coworkers. Honorees represented DCNR’s bureaus of state parks, forestry, facility design and construction, administrative services, and recreation and conservation.
The list and photos of those DCNR employees receiving the Secretary’s Achievement Award are available online.
