Post-Gazette: EHB Sides With DEP In Regulation Of Oil And Gas Emissions

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Tuesday the Environmental Hearing Board has sided with DEP on how it aggregates natural gas emissions for regulation in an appeal brought by National Fuel Gas Midstream, Seneca Resources and others.
The EHB said DEP was within its authority to add together the air emissions from a gas well pad and a compressor station on a state forest tract in Lycoming County and determine they are a single pollution source.
The well was operated by Seneca Resources and the compressor station by Natural Fuel Gas.
This is the first decision by the EHB on  DEP’s policy of aggregating natural gas emissions.
National Fuel Gas has not yet decided on whether it will appeal the decision.
