Pocono Forest & Waters Conservation Landscape Mini-Grant Success Stories
The Pocono Forest and Waters Conservation Landscape has been implementing a mini-grant program within the Pocono Forest and Waters Conservation Landscape for the last few years thanks to funding provided by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
The mini-grant program funds projects that support the Conservation Landscape goals of conservation, connections, and community.
The final wrap-up meeting of the 11 current mini-grantees was held on June 26. At the meeting each of the mini-grantees gave a brief PowerPoint presentation regarding their project.
The projects included installing bollards and gates on trails, creating public access amenities on trails, installing rain gardens, conducting new trail alignment feasibility studies, and creating an arboretum.
The intent of the wrap-up meeting was for the mini-grantees to showcase their respective projects as well as provide an opportunity for the mini-grantees to share their successes and challenges.
Each mini-grantee also created a “success story” using a template provided by PEC. The success story is a tool the mini-grantees can use to explain and promote their respective projects and their accomplishments in improving the environment in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Here are links to each success story--
