Firearm Engraver Guild of America (FEGA) 2015 Annual Antique Firearm Show

One day after the 2015 SHOT Show ends the Beinfeld Las Vegas Antique Arms Show begins that includes the Firearm Engravers Guild annual show at the Riviera Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas. It runs from January 23rd to January 25th.
The Firearms Engravers Guild of America (FEGA) was founded in 1981 that provides opportunities for engravers to exchange ideas and knowledge, network, promote firearm engraving as an art form and show off to the public their firearm engraving and hand engraving skills. Examples of firearm and knife engraving will be presented with top-notch engravers present at the booths.
The entry fee to members and public: one-day pass = $15, three-day pass = $35, and an Honor Guest pass = $90 that allows entry to the show at the same time as the exhibitors. Because Beinfeld Productions is in charge, FEGA members will have to pay to get in like the general public. However, cheaper hotel rates will make up for the extra expense.
The hours open to public and FEGA members:
Friday 23rd – 9am to 5pm
Saturday 24th – 9am to 5pm
Sunday 25th – 9am to 2pm
You can call the toll-free number for reservations: (800) 634-3414 or visit the hotel web site at www.rivierahotel.com. The room rates are $50 to $90. The code for Antique Arms group room rate ($89 per night) is SARM114.
On the 24th there will be a banquet and auction that begins at 6pm and is $58 per person. Proceeds from the auction helps pay for the cost of the show and also helps finance FEGA. The complete convention schedule is HERE.
The auction firearm is a classic Steve Heilmann Winchester Highwall 1885 with a 29-inch barrel, half round and half octagon. It is fully engraved with a classic Western theme and gold inlay. The following artisans contributed time and skill for the auction firearm:
Steve Heilmann, metalwork.
Gary Goudy, stockwork.
Ron Smith, general layout and design of action engraving.
Sam Welch, gold line work on action.
Mike Dubber, 24k gold barrel lettering, tang lettering, and breech bands.
Bob Strosin, screws.
Jim Blair, scrollwork.
Lee Griffith, right side action scene.
Weldon Lister, left side action scene.
Barry Lee Hands, 24k gold highlights.
Doug Turnbull, case color, rust blue, char blue, and finishing.
You can recognize from the names that the Highwall rifle will be a one-of-a-kind collector piece to the lucky person (and wealthy) who wins the auction bid.
