Mystery Tackle Box Review: December Ice Box
Earlier this week, I received this month's Mystery Tackle Box - my first ice edition! I subscribed to this service for two months in March and April. There were pros and cons. I liked how it made me try baits I might otherwise avoid; I disliked the somewhat inconsistent quality of the boxes. But with the first ice box, I'm struggling to find anything negative!
This month's ice box includes:
This month's ice box includes:
- Celsius Cold Weather Fishing Line
- Celsius Ice Rod Sleeve
- Celsius Foam Spring Bobbers (2 pk)
- Celsius Depth Finder (2 pk)
- Celsius Pike Tip Up Rig
- Celsius Ice Squirt (3 pk)
- Celsius 1/8 oz. Feeding Flash (4 pk)
- Celsius 5/8 oz. Feeding Flash (2 pk)
- Celsius Angel Hair Grubs (10 pk)
See a pattern? I'm not sure if having only Celsius products is unique to this month or whether, because the ice boxes are new this season, Mystery Tackle Box is still working on including other brands. Regardless, I'm happy with the quality and the quantity in the package: it's a nice mix of stuff for both panfish and their predators!
As a disclaimer, I may be somewhat biased since I'm relatively new to ice fishing, and any gear which augments my arsenal is sure to please me. But a few products really stand out: the rod sleeve is fantastic, as it's useful but something I might not otherwise pick up from a shelf in a store; the spring bobber's another incredible piece of equipment I knew nothing about until I watched this dry but informative video; and maybe because I was lamenting an extra trip to the store, the inclusion of line in the package excites me to no end, as every fisherman can use more, and it's something I haven't seen in a Mystery Tackle Box before.
Now all I have to do is go out and try these products! Oh, wait...THERE'S NO ICE!
