Summon Night: Swordcraft Story (Part 10)

When the day starts, you will have another little bonus scene with whoever you visited at the end of the previous day. They're all rather sweet/touching to some extent, at least I think so. I watched them all one right after the other and I almost had a fit, it was all so sweet. Once the scene is done, the day will start for real.

You get Match Notice 5 as well as Labyrinth Key 5 here. Sanary will come in and speak to you, then ask you to come downstairs to Bron's room. Do so, and then you will be sent to fetch Shintetsu's hammer. Always with the fetching things, aren't we. Unfortunately, when we speak to Amariss it turns out she doesn't have it. So we have to go talk to Master Rondeau in the end.

Excuse me sir that's sort of rude isn't it. Turns out the old man doesn't have it either, though. Fiddlesticks. Go into the central tower (third floor) and head through the secret door that leads to the "flower field" and you will be spotted by Sakuro. After another scene, return to Bron and get the Sword Technique. Pick up today's spear technique before you go up to your workshop, too. Forge the  Platinum Lance. We are handing this over to someone, so you may want to forge a second one or its elemental version for yourself. Now events!

Go to the sword lover's house (between silver guild and central tower) and get a Sword Technique.
Go to the drill lover's house (southwest of silver guild) and get a Drill Technique from the woman.
Go to the cat lover's house (east of the inn) and get a Knuckle Technique from the old man.
Go to Wystern's middle level and buy a Technique from the man in the western house for 10,000b
Go to the axe lover's house (southwestern house) and get an Axe Technique from the wife.
Go to the spear lover's house (eastern house) and give her the Platinum Lance for a Technique

You will notice that there are some gaps between the techniques you just got and the ones Bron will give you for the day, but don't panic - you haven't missed anything. The gaps will be filled in later, let's go down into the labyrinth for now.

Head down to the 33rd floor and open the door here. On the next floor, head northwest to a chest with a Klotzen Potion. Then return to the stairs and go west along the bottom. Circle around the outer edge of the room sticking to the right-hand side (don't take the path leading south as it's a dead end). When your path ends, take the steps on your left to reach the stairs to the next floor.

Go east through the room until you see some steps leading up to a platform with a bunch of barrels. Smash them to reveal a hidden room behind, and enter. You will find a Steel Plate, a Klotzen Potion and a Martial Ore here. When you're done, take the stairs to the south.

On the next floor head north to find a room with three chests. These contain a Klotzen Potion, a Martial Ore and an Iron Ore. After this go northwest and around to the stairs. Activate the teleporter on the next floor, but there is nothing else of interest so proceed directly west and take the stairs. There is a room in the northwest corner of the next floor which contains a Med Kit. East of here is a platform with its stairs mostly hidden under a pipe. There is a hidden room up here which contains two Klotzen Potions.

You can proceed to the next floor, but there is nothing here. Return to the teleporter instead and exit the labyrinth. Save and heal, then head into your match with Sanary when you are ready.

For this stage in the game, Sanary isn't very tough to deal with, at least not if you are aiming to break her weapon. Keep your guard up because she deals a heavy amount of damage if she does manage to hit you, but she moves in a super predictable pattern. If you want to try taking her on head-on for a bit of a challenge, by all means do so - just remember not to save after and redo the fight for her technique. You also don't really have to worry about her Summon Creature. She only used it once with me, purely for defense, and by now your own partner should have access to both the Healing Spell and Weapon Guard. If you've made it this far in the game you shouldn't have trouble making it through another fight.

I AM the weapon!

After the fight some dramatic stuff will go down and you'll end up in the central tower in the end.

The craftlords will speak to you about Parista a bit, and then Varil will march off in a huff. The meeting ends shortly after and you end up back at the Silver Guild where some more talking happens. In the end, you get another Sword Technique and are given a choice between two paths to pursue; either looking for Sanary or continuing to prepare for the tournament. However if you pick the second one the game will not progress until you go and speak to your character's mother, who will of course then convince them to go and look for Sanary anyway.

Head back to the central tower where you will get a scene with Varil on your way in. Go to the labyrinth entrance and speak to the man there - he will not let you by, but he will tell you another way to get in. Go to the second floor and speak to the blond guy here. Continue up to the third floor to the area we went through to chase Razzy a while ago, but don't go through the hidden side entrance - march right in the front. After speaking to the man for a moment, head through the side entrance and time your progress right so that you sneak past the two guards walking up and down. You will see a doorway here - this is where we want to go through.

Oops. Not as clever and sneaky as we thought, I guess. After a scene you will end up on the labyrinth's first floor. Remember to equip a weapon since Sanary stole yours after the fight, then head around to the teleporter. Go to the 37th floor. We've already explored the next floor and there's nothing of note on the one after that, so go straight down to 40 (using the healing spot just before the stairs on 39 if you need to).

The 40th floor has nothing as well, but the 41st has a Klotzen Potion in the southwest corner. On the next floor, go through a door in the southwest corner for two chests containing another Klotzen Potion and a Martial Ore. There's another door to the east with a Large Fishhook. The next floor contains another Martial Ore in the southwest and another Klotzen Potion east and north from here (both out in the open). There is a room in the northwest corner of the 44th floor with a Summon Charm and yet another Martial Ore. There's a room east of here with a Klotzen Potion as well.

Activate the teleporter on the next floor, then head south towards the exit. Stop by the room on your leaft to collect a Med Kit and an Amulet from the chests here. Get another Martial Ore from the easily visible room on the next floor, then a Klotzen Potion, Martial Ore, and Machaniwyrm Bolt from three chests in a hidden room to the right of the stairs. Save here if you would like.

On the next floor, there is a door visible to the southeast of the stairs you enter from. This one just has some barrels and crates, but further east is another door with a Klotzen Potion. You may want to go back and save (again) because once you head south of the stairs you will be tossed into a fight.

Well, look who's not dead and being controlled by Parista. Do I even need to write out a strategy at this point? I think I'll skip it, there's not really anything of note... except a new technique to obtain from breaking his weapon. Heal and go down to the next floor.

Go left first and then head northeast to the middle-ish of the floor. Here you should see a treasure chest up some steps on the right, this contains a Klotzen Potion, of course. Northwest of here is a Wyvern Talon. East of here is the next set of stairs. Head southwest on the next floor and you will find two doors - enter the one on the left first. You will get the Small Key here.

Uh-oh.

Just let Parista squash you for now, your weapons have no effect. After the battle you will escape and meet up with Kuhyra, who is sort of an opposite to Parista. After a bit of discussion, he asks you to make a choice. If you give up your Summoned Beast, Kuhyra will replace them until the end of the main story. If you choose to keep them with you, well, they stay with you. Kuhyra says your weapon won't be as strong if you don't give them up, but I don't really think there's much of a difference. If you choose not to use the beast's soul we have a bit more work as well, since you have to go talk to Amariss. Luckily there is another teleporter right outside the room we're in. We're still not allowed to use the labyrinth's main entrance for some reason, despite being seen by both master Sakuro and master Bron already.

Surprise!

But not really, right? We figured something like this would happen eventually. At least I know I did. But anyway...

Let's do as the lady says.

A short battle you should have no troubles with by this point, and then a little scene where you will obtain the swords. Back to the labyrinth! An yes, we STILL have to go the long way.

Enter the workshop on the 50th floor and speak to Kuhyra. Choose which kind of weapon to forge, and away we go!

V.S. Parista

By this stage in the game you probably have a good handle on whatever your preferred method of fighting is, yes? Nonetheless, giving pointers is what I am here for. Astral Guard or Weapon Shield are helpful here, as Parista has a very large amount of HP (what else would you expect?). For the most part, staying over to one edge of the screen is your best bet. He has a few attacks that are actually fairly basic.

He will extend his neck across the screen and try to bit you, you can actually dodge this by staying at the edge of the screen, his neck will pass over your head. He will also try to claw at you with his stubby t-rex arms, but just back up a few steps to get out of the way. He will also slam his fist into the ground causing rocks to fall in some places, shadows on the ground will tell you where they are going to hit. Lastly he will breathe a ball of fire down at the ground which will then erupt into a large fire that will cover most of the ground - again, just stay to the side of the screen to avoid this.

Keep attacking, heal if necessary, but don't use up all of our magic. Once you finally deplete his HP he will come back for another round.

V.S. Parista & Sanary

This phase gets a whole new set of attacks but this don't get too much more complicated. As always, you need to stay in close to do damage and now is the best time to unleash any offensive magic you have at your disposal. One of his most frequent attacks is to try and punch you will one of his arms, the attack will be preceded by some white wisps near his face/the ground. It is important to watch for this and dodge it, because it can't be blocked and it will knock you down, then he will use it again before you have a chance to move out of the way and take off over 300 hp at once. Next he will hold both his hands in front of him and after a couple seconds push them forward to try and push you back. If you have a decent agility score you can jump over them, otherwise just block.

Next he will send out Sanary in a green bubble and she will fire lasers down at you, just block these. Also sometimes his face will glow green and he will fire a projection of it at you, this can be blocked as well. Lastly, his mouth will glow blue and he will fire a laser beam that reaches across the entire battlefield. As far as I know you cannot dodge this and it cannot be blocked, but if you jump at the right moment you can at least dodge the first hit.

In the end you will pull through, watch the ending scenes and credits and then view a simple little CG as the final scene (with whoever you visited the previous night) plays out.

And we are done! Thank you for following along, I hope you enjoyed the game and my guide!
