Let's start off with the big fish of the morning, caught on a
Metallic Green Live Target Threadfin Shad Baitball Squarebill:
This beast was the second fish of the day, sitting just off a dock in about 2-3 feet of water, hitting the lure a few cranks after it hit the surface. I've never seen a fish this big jump so high - at least a good foot in the air. I thought it would throw the hook for sure, but I managed to get it in my net after a good fight. The first fish, a little guy, was caught on a
Mule coloured Rapala Scatter Rap Crank Shallow (yes, I was on the water at 5:30 am):
The fish were all shallow and active, and after catching the second fish, I pretty much stuck to the Live Target lure. Here's another picture of the second fish:
For those curious, I'm using a Quantum Tour KVD Baitcast Reel with a 5.3:1 gear ratio, paired with a Medium 7'10" Quantum Tour KVD PT Crankbait Rod with a moderate action. This is my first time seriously using this rod, and I'm quite pleased with how it performed.
The reel is spooled with 12 lb. fluorocarbon. Here are a few pictures of the other fish I caught:

And finally, I saw a few fish just hanging around a floating dock, possibly still spawning, so I threw a wacky rigged green pumpkin coloured
Gary Yamamoto 4" Senko on spinning gear for this one - 10 lb. braid with a 10 lb. fluorocarbon leader:

I'll be posting every day up to and including Tuesday so stay tuned!
