Summon Night: Swordcraft Story (Part 3)

What's that boy? Timmy's in the well?

Eh, close enough.

We have a couple things we can take care of right away, if you feel inclined to do so. First of all at the inn there is a merchant by the counter who will buy one of your weapons. However he will only buy one, so choose accordingly. Next, go to the middle level of Wystern. Go all the way south and you will see two houses. Enter the one on the left and give the man here Kenon's Axe to get your first Technique. Northwest from here is another house where a man will sell you the day's second Technique for 1000b.

Head east from this house across the two arching bridges, and speak to the craftknight behind the item shop (still closed) to get an Iron Ore. Easy-peasey! Off to the labyrinth we go now.

You should have everything up to the 8th floor cleared out by now, so warp to the 6th and continue on from there. The man who blocked our way during Day 2 is gone, so we can now access the 9th floor. There are two rooms here which contain various treasure chests, and the second room also contains a chest with a Kicker Potion. You will start to encounter more difficult enemies around here. Spear weapons are very useful for groups of these, since you can keep your distance and hit many at once.

On the next floor there are some crates and barrels over to the east but other than that it doesn't matter which way you go, you will reach the next set of stairs regardless. On the 11th floor go west and up the stairs for a path with several boxes and crates, then backtrack and start heading northeast. When you reach a large hole in the floor your character will go up to it automatically. Choose not to jump down yet, and instead activate the teleporter above you and use the save point. Now go back to the hole and go down.

Hrm. I don't think this is Razzy. The woman will talk for a bit before directing your attention to the crack in the northwest corner of the floor (that we can't see in the screenshot because Pratty is in the way). Also, don't take he exit at the bottom of the screen or the door will lock behind you and you will have to backtrack to the previous floor to drop down the hole again. Inspect the crack and hit it with your hammer. It will take a couple whacks, but eventually you'll fall through. There's no way this could go wrong, right?

Oops. Oh, well. Apparently there's something else we have to worry about as well, so follow Razzy out of the room. The game's first non-human boss will be pointed out to you, and as you approach it a battle will start automatically.

The Yasha Spider doesn't move very quickly, but its attacks can take off about 50 damage each. When it crouches down for a second, it is about to shoot a fireball out of its mouth, so jump back once or twice to get out of the way. It will also sometimes turn around and try to bite you with its butt. Or maybe that's its face and the mask part is the butt. I don't know which would be weirder.

Anyway, if it corners you there won't be enough room to dodge the fireballs, but you can either use your guardian beasts' elemental attack(s) to push it back or use the drill's charged attack to get past it. Using your partner's Enchant move will increase the damage output of your weapon as well. When you win you will receive the Eerie Mask which can be used for materials.

Follow Razzy through the door and get the Kicker Potion from a chest in here, then talk to him and return to the room we ended up in after falling through the hole. After some dialogue, exit the room and climb up the ladder on the left. We receive Match Notice 3 here, and now it's time to leave the labyrinth. Head back to the Silver guild and speak with Bron, and forge a new weapon if you wish, then head back to the Central Tower and head to the arena.

Make sure you've talked to the old man on the middle level of Wystern before you start your match or you won't get a technique from him tomorrow!

This is your toughest opponent yet. Razzy is very quick, and her attacks hurt. She will also call her guardian beast a lot to hit you with a lightning attack, and also one time to cast a spell on her weapon that will keep its durability from decreasing for a few moments. I recommend just bringing a lot of healing items and when she casts Weapon Guard you should use Astral Guard to increase your defense. That spell will also keep you from being stunned by her punches, so you can hit her and stop her attack before she has a chance to hit you 4/5 times in a row. The spell will also prevent you from getting knocked down if she hits you while you're in the air.

After the effects of her Weapon Guard spell wear off, I suggest just blocking until her weapon breaks. Don't even bother trying to chase her around and hit her to trick her into blocking, because you are going to get the crap beat out of you that way. At least I did.

When the battle is done, go up to the third floor of the central tower and look for a rectangular outline on the wall similar to the secret rooms we've seen in the labyrinth. Go through it (why is there a cat hanging on the wall?) and head north. You will have to sneak past some guards here, simply wait until their backs are turned to you. Just head all the way north along the eastern wall, then all the way left and go up the stairs.

During the dialogue that takes place after you will be given a choice of three things to say. Personally, I find the first one to be the best but the other two have the same general gist. When that's done, choose who you wish to visit and then the day will end.
