House Appropriations Committee Invites Questions From Public On Budget

Majority House Appropriations Chair Bill Adolph (R-Delaware) Thursday announced the Committee is encouraging the public to submit questions to his office to be asked by members during the upcoming budget hearings on the Governor’s FY 2014-15 budget proposal.

“Openness, transparency and public participation in government are the basis of our democracy. Government is at its best when all these things are present. I hope this new opportunity for the public to participate in these budget hearings encourages them to get more involved in the process,” said Rep. Adolph.

To submit questions, residents can visit the Public Budget Hearing Participation webpage on the Appropriations Committee website.

“More involvement by the public and their input in the state budgeting process will only add value to the end result. I know that Pennsylvania residents have great ideas on how we can navigate these difficult budget times and I want to make sure we provide a way for them to get their thoughts to the committee as budget discussions get underway,” said Rep. Adolph.

The first hearing is set to begin on February 10 and will feature an economic outlook presentation by the Independent Fiscal Office.
