Jurassic Game Fishing Pond
An interesting place to visit for diehard urban game fishing anglers who doesn't have the time to trudge into wild places to hunt for Snakeheads. Located along Jalan Batu Arang & near the the turning into the road that leads to Kundang. Refer to map below.

Setup in 2011, this is currently the premier & also the ONLY paypond in Malaysia dedicated to Snakehead lure fishing. Initially, only whopper size Haruans & Tomans were stocked in the pond but lately, anglers has been landing Barramundi as well as Red Tail catfishes too. From time to time, anglers would hook onto Tilapias too but these is an accidental catch as the Tilapia are stocked in the pond as food for the predator fishes.

Fishing here is strictly with artificial baits or lures. Trebles hooks is prohibited, only single hooks are allowed. This rule is to prevent too much injury to the fishes here. For Haruans, the best lure to use is those 9 to 10cm paddle tail soft plastic baits, cast to the centre of the pond & let it sink to the bottom.
For those who are targeting Toman (Giant Snakehead), the lure of choice would be plugs & poppers, but one has to be patience as it will take much more effort to entice a Toman to strike. Fishing here requires slower presentations as water is murky & fish has to rely on their sense of vibration & noise to zero in on your lure.
What I like about fishing here is there are ample assistants to remove hooks & help with photography sessions when you hook a fish. The moment you hook one, the assistants will be cycling over in a jiffy.
Being farmed fishes, the snakeheads here doesn't offer the same level of fight compared to their wild counterparts but nothing beats the satisfaction of landing your 1st 2kg Haruan. To find such fishes in the wild is almost impossible especially in Selangor & most urbanized areas.

The Powerbait Jerkbait rigged to a jig head is an effective bait for Haruans.
